Commissioner Margrethe Vestager: Bulgaria plays an important role in the Energy Union
Competition Commissioner in the EU expressed its support for the gas hub during a meeting with President Rosen Plevneliev. The theme “Energy” was the main discussed between the Bulgarian authorities with the Commissioner for EU competition Margrethe Vestager.
Before her Bulgarian president Rosen Plevneliev commented the construction of interconnectors between Bulgaria and Greece, as well as liberalization of the energy sector and the development of regional markets for trade in electricity and natural gas reported by the press secretariat of the President.
Margrete Vestager expressed its support for construction of gas distribution center in Bulgaria, indicating more there. “Bulgaria is determined to complete the reform in the energy sector and for us European Commission is a trusted partner in this process,” Plevneliev commented.
It is clear that our country has achieved a lot for having more transparency in the work of energy companies now strive to encourage the introduction of good management practices and policies. For every European and Bulgarian citizen is important to provide security of energy supply and affordable, said Margrethe Vestager during a meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, complemented by the government’s press service. She pointed out that Bulgaria plays an important role in building the Energy Union community. The Prime Minister stated that he met the Commissioner with one of the strategic tasks of the government – the retention of ownership of the transmission network in Bulgaria.
