World online platform “Alibaba” interested in Bulgarian goods and services

Terraland Group took part in discussions on strategic partnerships of Bulgarian companies with the Chinese giant

The opportunities for Bulgarian companies to participate in global online trading platform and logistics “Alibaba” were presented on December 12 at BIA by the director of “Alibaba Group” for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Turkey and Eastern Europe Mr. David Baumgart. He was invited in Bulgaria by the Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Industrial Development (BCCID) and the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA) and his program includes besides meetings with Bulgarian companies also talks with government representatives.

The meeting was attended by managers of more than 30 companies operating in the food and drink industry, electronics, machine tools, cosmetics and essential oils, spa and tourism, clothing, apparel and accessories, auto parts and transportation and etc.

Alibaba is the largest retailer in the world in terms of gross merchandise trade. As of September 2016 Alibaba Group has a year of their markets 439 million active buyers, giving them access to millions of merchants and brands. The field of activity of Alibaba Group include basic trade cloud platforms, mobile media and entertainment, and other innovative practices. Through subsidiaries created by investors the company participates in various sectors for local services and logistics. It owns and share in the mutual distribution of profits of the company for financial services Ant, which operates through Alipay – the leading platform for online payments in China.

The two largest market Alibaba’s platforms in China are Taobao Marketplace for trading of mobile devices and Tmall for brands and retailers. The company works with more than ten million merchants, there are over one billion offered products and 439 million buyers from 200 countries and regions. The logistics network of Alibaba Group performs an average of 42 million deliveries a day.
